Call for Art
HCA Winter Show
November 26 - December 16, 2024
The HCA is seeking art work for our annual Winter Show and Silent Auction.  This is not a juried exhibition, all submitted artwork will be accepted and hung in the gallery.  We ask that you submit a maximum of two pieces.
WREATHS:We are seeking artists and/or organizations who are willing to decorate an artificial wreath (not live) and donate it tothe HCA to be auctioned off. Wreaths do not need to be decorated specifically for Christmas. Indeed, in past yearswe've had wreaths presented with traditional and unconventional materials across a wide range of themes. 
ARTWORK FOR SALE BY ARTIST:We are also seeking artists who ideally have a winter and/or holiday themed art/sculptures to add to the show, but will accept all genres of theme. Artwork must be priced for sale with a where the artist receives 70% of the sale price. Or please consider donating your work to the HCA so that all of the proceeds support the HCA.
Please provide us with an estimated price for your work so that bidders in the auction can have a reference for the value of your artwork. 
There is no "call for art" fee associated with this request. Please use the coupon code WINTER at checkout.
Artists are invited to submit online applications containing 1 or 2 works of art no larger than 30"wide. All media are welcome, including framed painting, drawing, photography, printmaking - and wall-hung sculpture if it does not protrude more than 10", and the widest dimensions is 30". No AI (Artificial Intelligence) artwork will be accepted.
 
Two dimensional work must be wired for hanging. Your work will not be accepted if it is not properly framed and wired. Please contact Megann Filios at megann@hopartscenter.org if you have any questions. See instructions here

EXHIBIT DATES: November 26- December 16, 2024SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday November 04, 2023 - 5pm. No exceptions for late submissions. Please do not wait until November 04 to submit your work online. The website often slows down if everyone is waiting to submit on the final day.ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTED ARTWORKS: Wednesday November 6 - 5pmDROP OFF DATES: Friday November 22, 3-6pm OR Saturday November 23, 10am-1pm at 98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, MA 01748. Work will be accepted before or after these dates. If you are planning to ship your artwork, please let Megann know at megann@hopartscenter.org.  Artwork must be received by Nov 22ndPICK UP DATES: Tuesday December 17 9am-6pm - ALL WORK MUST BE PICKED UP ON TIME. HCA cannot be responsible for storing your artwork
How to size your images before uploading them on artcall: Check that your image has a .jpg or .png extension at the end of its nameSize: An image size is determined by its width and its height in pixels (px)Weight: the weight of an image also called "File Size"  is measured in kilobite (KB) or megabite (MB)To upload your images on art call, the size of your image must be at least 960 x 1920 px, and the weight less than 4MB.PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN 1 WORK IN A SINGLE SUBMISSION. This makes for a very difficult selection process for the jurors and the admins.  Thank you for understanding.
