Overview
The Wasmer Gallery is honored to host a juried exhibition celebrating
the creativity and vision of women artists living and working in
Northeast Ohio. The exhibition will include diverse media, an opening
reception, and cash awards.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Open only to women artists 18 years of age and older, emerging and
professional, currently residing in the 18 counties of Northeast Ohio:
Ashland, Ashtabula, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake,
Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull,
Tuscarawas, and Wayne.
CASH AWARDS
Guaranteed minimum prize pool: $500.
The final prize pool will increase based on the total number of entries
and final amounts will be announced on September 12 with acceptance
notifications.

Prize winners will be asked to complete a W-9 for payment. Per IRS
rules, awards $600+ require a W-9. Checks issued by Ursuline College.
ENTRY FEES
$10 per artwork, maximum of 3 artworks per artist. Maximum artist fee
$30. ArtCall adds a small platform processing fee at checkout. Entry
fees are non-refundable. Submission of entries does not guarantee
selection. This is a highly competitive juried exhibition.
HOW TO SUBMIT
All work must be ORIGINAL - your own concept and creation, completed within the last 5 years.
NOT ELIGIBLE: Work created under supervision/instruction in a class
or workshop; copies of another artist's work; giclée or other
reproductions of original art (exception: signed & numbered limited
edition prints or photography); work previously exhibited at Wasmer
Gallery.
1. Up to 3 digital entries per artist.
2. All judging is online from digital images. High-quality photography is essential.
3. No CDs, DVDs, or mailed photographs. Do not email images to the Gallery Director.
4. For
blind jurying, jury images must be cropped to artwork only - no mat,
frame, watermark, or visible signature. 5. Accepted physical work MUST be
signed, dated, and labeled on back.

PRESENTATION OF ACCEPTED WORK - Must arrive ready to install
- 2D work
must be matted, backed, under clean glass or plexiglass, framed, with
D-rings or screw eyes and wire rated for weight. NO sawtooth hangers,
clips, or plastic poster frames.
- Glass/plexi must be clean inside and out, unscratched. Frames and mats must be clean, undamaged, with no warping.
- Canvas: framed or museum-wrapped with painted edges, no visible staples.
- All work must have sale price OR marked NFS with insurance value. NFS must still include insurance value.
- Gallery
reserves the right to decline work that is significantly different from
jury image in size, quality, or condition, or arrives damaged.
- Gallery staff will use all reasonable care but is not responsible for damage due to improper mounting, framing, or instability.
SIZE, WEIGHT, MEDIA
- 2D work: Including mat and frame, no larger than 30" x 40".
- Freestanding sculpture: May not exceed 40 lbs. Artist must be able to move/install.
- Series /
Diptych: Counts as 1 entry, maximum 2 panels. Label files as 1a, 1b.
Combined width not to exceed 40". - Each panel must individually meet size
limits.
- Painting: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, encaustic- Works on Paper: drawing, printmaking, charcoal, chalk, pastel, pencil, wax, crayon, ink, collage- Photography: traditional, digital, computer-enhanced- Mixed Media: 2+ media combined in one composition- Sculpture: wood, metal, stone, glass, mosaic, ceramic, fiber, recycled materials - all must be hand-built by artist- Glass: hand-blown or hand-cut and fused by artist- Fiber: fine art weaving, quilting, soft sculpture- Jewelry: Original wearable art including hand-fabricated metalwork, casting, forging, enameling, beading, lapidary, polymer clay and mixed materials. All pieces must be designed and executed by the artist. No commercial casts, molds, kits, or mass-produced components permitted.
JURY PROCESS - Blind Review
At no time does the juror see artists' personal information. Juror
receives only: images, media, dimensions, year completed, weight if
applicable.
Juror scores each entry 1-5 stars based on: demonstration of artistic
mastery, creative excellence and innovation, and outstanding execution
of chosen medium. Decisions of the Juror and Wasmer Gallery regarding
originality and eligibility are final.
DELIVERY & PICK-UP
Artists or representatives are responsible for delivery and pick-up on
stated dates/times. No shipped work accepted. Late deliveries not
accepted. Work cannot be removed early for sale or other exhibit. Work
not picked up will not be stored.
Sales: Work does not have to be for sale. Gallery handles ALL sales,
retains 20% commission, and does not collect sales tax. Artist paid by
Ursuline College within 2 weeks of sale. All purchases must be paid in
full by close of show. Sold and unsold work picked up same day.
Insurance: All accepted work is insured while on display for the
insurance value you provide. Artists are encouraged to maintain own
insurance. Transit not covered.
Image Use: Copyright remains with artist. Wasmer Gallery and Ursuline College reserve the right to use images of accepted artwork with credit for marketing, press, website, and social media related to this exhibition.
