The Morgan Art of Papermaking 13th Annual Juried Exhibition
As the quarter century approaches, the Morgan Conservatory hosts its 13th Annual Juried Exhibition. This year artists are invited to reflect on the theme of the exhibition, Interwoven Aspects: Innovation and Tradition in Paper Art. Artists are encouraged to respond to the ever changing landscape the upcoming quarter century brings; whether that is the rise of AI and other technologies, the idea of intersectionality or the transformative nature of paper as a medium and substrate. Artwork encompassing this theme is eligible for submission. This year’s exhibition is juried by Ashley Pastore and Kelly Taylor Mitchell.
The public reception and award announcements will be held on Friday, March 28th, 2025 from 5pm-8pm at the Morgan Conservatory (1754 E.47th St. Cleveland, OH 44103). The exhibition will be on view from March 7th, 2025- April 29th , 2025.
About the Jurors:
Kelly Taylor Mitchell (she/her, b. 1994) is an artist and educator who lives and works in Atlanta, GA where she is currently a 2023-2024 Midtown Alliance Artist-in-Residence, a 2023-2024 Arts & Social Justice Fellow at Emory University, a 2023-2024 BIPOC Lyndon House Arts Foundation Fellow, and an Assistant Professor of Art and Visual Culture at Spelman College.  Working across printmaking, papermaking, performance, book arts, and textiles, her current work stems from ancestral origin points in the American South and Caribbean.She has taught at Rhode Island School of Design, Virginia Commonwealth University, Penland School of Craft and Dieu Donne. Her work can be found in collections such as the Harvard Fine Arts Library, Duke University Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Walker Art Center Library, and publications like Burnaway, Art Papers, and Hand Papermaking.

Ashley Pastore (she/her) is an artist working in Erie, PA and is the owner of Grounded Print and Papershop. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in Printmaking and New Media. Recently her work was displayed at Allegheny Galleries and Mirabo Press. Her work is on permanent display in Chicago’s Union Station and the Cleveland’s Downtown Hilton.  Her work currently examines repetitive activity, imaginary narratives and explores the impulse to live forever through the realm of physical objects.
Eligibility:
The Morgan Conservatory's 13th Juried Exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States.
All submitted work must be original and completed within the past three years. 
Only artwork consisting of at least 50% paper is eligible. (Work is not limited to handmade paper. Can include: photography, printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, etc)
Dimensions must not exceed 60 inches in any direction. 
Each artist is welcome to submit up to 3 entries. 
Artwork must be framed (if media applicable) and ready to hang, or come with alternative installation directions. 
It is highly encouraged that works are for sale.

Entry Fees:
Registration fee is $30 for up to 3 submissions.

Notification of selected/non-selected artwork: Jan 7th, 2025
Accepted Art Delivery Deadline: February 7th, 2025

Public Reception and Award Ceremony: Friday, March 28th, 2025 from 5pm-8pm
