Sunstruck
Definition: sun·​struck (adjective) | affected or touched by the sun. This could include experiencing “sun-sickness” and/or heat stroke. Alternatively or simultaneously, this could mean a surface that is affected or bathed in sunlight. Sunstruck will bring together works that revel in the drama and allure of sunlight. This visual phenomena can happen between the dance of shadow and light, or the ways in which saturated hues can suggest a heat-hazed afternoons, dreamlike glows, and shifts in time.
Open to a wide range of mediums and approaches, Sunstruck invites both subtle and bold interpretations. From natural landscapes to imagined realms, to devoted mediums and experimental processes, we search for artists who consider how sunlight affects their creations, perspectives, and attitudes toward time.

Why the application fee? 
While our focus is on providing an accessible space for local artists, thoroughly reviewing applications requires time and effort. The one-time fee of $10 helps us sustain our gallery and continue offering valuable opportunities for local artists.
We're also excited to announce that we'll be hosting free art talks open to the public, as well as providing marketing and exposure opportunities for featured artists.

About Us:Attention local artists practicing within 100 miles of Bentonville, Arkansas! 
At Midnight Gallery, our mission is to celebrate and support local artists by providing them with a dedicated space to exhibit their work. We aim for our gallery to be a vibrant space that fosters creativity and community engagement. We are eager to feature a diverse range of artistic expressions.  Artwork in our gallery is insured. 
Midnight Gallery is a 434 sq ft space in front of our speakeasy bar, Callisto. While our gallery is still a separate space, patrons can enter our speakeasy through the gallery. Our goal is to be a center for artistic and social experiences. Being so close to downtown Bentonville and with the foot traffic from patrons of Callisto, there will be a unique opportunity for exposure and engagement!

We do have the capabilities of suspending artwork from ceiling, and our ceiling height is 9'. Weight limit would be 10lbs. Content-rating: Because Midnight Gallery is public facing with windows that provide eye-sight into our gallery, our establishment is rated PG-13. The Midnight Gallery will retain a 20% commission total on all sales made during the exhibition. Please factor this amount when determining your prices. We do not require that your works be for sale; please list NFS under the price description if applicable. 
Requirements to enter:  - Must sign required documents or if under the age of 18, have a parent or guardian sign required documents.- Must be able to drop off/pick up at our location in Bentonville, AR.

Artist Statement: (200-500 words) Introduce us to your artistic practice. This can encompass your process, philosophy, or any techniques, inspirations, and intent.Visuals: Artists must submit up to five artworks to be considered and include accurate descriptions.Artwork Descriptions: Title, Year, Medium, Dimensions (H x W, inches), Price in dollars (or NFS), First Name and Surname
FURTHER INFORMATION:
There is a possibility that works can rotate through the quarterly exhibition if sold during the duration of the exhibit. This will be decided through partnership, collaboration, and clear communication with the artist. We may ask for additional documentation and contact information if necessary if you are selected.
Proposals will be reviewed by our gallery committee based on artistic quality, originality, and alignment with our mission. Selected artists will be contacted directly with further details.
