Bountiful Davis Art Center Presents:Statewide Emerging Artists' AnnualCall for Artwork Submissions Submissions Open: June 17 - July 17, 2025 open till 11:59PMLocation: Bountiful Davis Art Center, 90 N Main Street, Bountiful, UT 84010The Statewide Emerging Artists' Annual is a competitive juried exhibition celebrating the outstanding creativity and potential of Utah’s emerging artists. Open to current BFA or MFA students and artists who have had five or fewer solo exhibitions, this show highlights the vibrant voices shaping the future of contemporary art. All submitted works must have been created within the past two years.This exhibition features a diverse range of artistic disciplines, including traditional painting, sculpture, installation, and new media. Each year, BDAC invites guest jurors to curate the exhibition and select three outstanding works to receive unrestricted cash awards. For 2025, our juror is Jorge Rojas.The artist selected for Best in Show will also be offered a solo exhibition at BDAC in 2026.The preliminary round is ONLINE ONLY. Artists accepted into the exhibition will be notified by August 4, 2025. Accepted artists will be asked to bring their work in person to the BDAC. The jurors will then select award winners from the accepted pieces. How to ApplyBefore submitting artwork, each artist must create a profile on ArtCall.org. Click the "Register and Apply" button to set up your account and begin your submission.Each $20 registration fee allows you to submit up to three (3) artworks, with up to three (3) images per piece. The first image uploaded will be the primary one viewed by the jurors.Applications must include the following:Artist Statement: 350 - 500 wordsArtist Bio: 100-200 wordsCV: up to 5 pagesHigh Resolution Images: 1-3 high resolution images of your piece (1500 px on the longest side, 10MB max per image)Entry registration fee: $20 (All fees are non-refundable.)All works must be original, completed within the past two years, and must not have been previously exhibited at BDAC. Selected pieces must be delivered ready for installation—dry, properly framed, and presentation-ready. All two-dimensional works must be equipped with D-rings and wire for hanging. Artwork that does not meet these criteria may be declined at drop-off.
Please label all pieces clearly with the artist’s name and artwork title.
Submissions in all media are welcome, including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, installation, printmaking, mixed media, fiber arts, digital media, performance, video, and new media.Important DatesPlease note the following dates:Applications open: June 17, 2025Applications close: July 17, 2025 (at 11:59 pm)Artists are notified: August 4, 2025 (via email)Artwork drop-off for accepted artist only: August 16 from noon to 5 pm and August 19 from 10 am to 6 pm.Exhibit on view: August 29 - November 07, 2025Opening reception: Friday, August 29, 2025 @ 6-8pm. Awards announced at 7pm. Family and friends are welcome.About the Juror:Jorge Rojas is a multidisciplinary artist, independent curator, and educator. He studied Art at the University of Utah and Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Rojas uses visual art, performance, and social engagement to examine cultural, social, and mediated communication and art production forms. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in multiple museum collections, including The Mexican Museum, San Francisco; Museum of Latin American Art, Long Beach; New Jersey State Museum, Trenton; Alice Merrill Horne/Utah Arts & Museums; and Salt Lake County, Utah. From 2015-2021, Rojas served as director of learning and engagement at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. In 2019, Artists of Utah/15 Bytes named Rojas one of Utah’s Most Influential Artists. In 2022, he was selected as a Visual Arts Fellow for Utah Arts & Museums and received the Salt Lake City Mayor’s Artist Award. In 2024, he received a NALAC Fund for the Arts award. Rojas’s combined practice as an artist, curator, and educator aligns with his passion for working with artists, arts institutions, and communities toward social, racial, and cultural justice.
