Schack Art Center 24th Juried Show 2026: Present Tense

Important Dates
Entry deadline: Sunday, April 24 at midnight
Notifications emailed: May 1 by 5pm
Accepted artwork delivery: Tuesday, May 19, 10am-3pm
Exhibition Soft Opening Day: Thursday, May 28
Opening Reception/Garden Party: Thursday, June 4, 5-8pm. Awards presentation 6:30pm.
Artwork pickup: Sunday, August 23, 12-4pm
Awards
Grand Prize: $500
First Prize 2D, First Prize 3D: $350 each category
Second Prize 2D, Second Prize 3D: $250 each category
Third Prize 2D, Third Prize 3D: $150 each category
Honorable Mention: Certificates, 6 each category
Eligibility
Entry is open to all Pacific Northwest artists for works created within the last two years and not previously shown in the Schack Art Center galleries or store. Artists may enter up to 3 (three) works. All items must be for sale. A 40% commission will be charged for all items sold. Do not submit NFS work.
Entries and payment must be entered through our online application system. JurorsChristian Waguespack-curator at Museum of Northwest Art; Nancy Loorem Adams-past president of Northwest Designer Craftartists; and Andrew Vallee-owner Smith & Vallee Gallery in Edison, WA.
Media
All works must fall into one of the following categories: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Calligraphy, Fiber Arts, Jewelry, Ceramics, Woodworking, Glass, Stone Sculpture, and Metal Sculpture.
Entry Fees
A non-refundable entry fee of $25 per artist, up to 3 pieces, is required. Entry fee defrays costs of cash prizes, entry software, and juror stipends.
Submission Procedure
All entries must be submitted online at schack.org, using the artcall.org application system. 1 image each of up to 3 pieces.
Conditions
Any two-dimensional work (where appropriate) must be suitably framed to gallery quality standards, wired and ready to hang. No fast or clip frames of any nature will be accepted. Oversized pieces will be accepted at the discretion of the jurors, dependent upon available display space. Schack Art Center reserves the right to refuse any work it deems unsuitable (size, value, fragile nature, etc.), or any work that is not identical to the digital image. Schack Art Center does not accept work produced, in whole or part, with AI.
Selection Procedure
A jury panel of three independent jurors will select work for this exhibition. A maximum of three (3) pieces per artist may be submitted for jurying. All entrants will be juried from digital images. Awards will be judged from the original works of art.
Image Requirements-Focus Matters!
One jpg/jpeg image may be uploaded for each piece entered, up to 3 pieces.
Accepted Work
Accepted work must be delivered to the gallery with prepared paperwork, labeled on back/bottom with artist name and title, and unpacked upon arrival, on Tuesday, May 19, 10am-3pm.
Pickup Dates
Sunday, August 23, 12-4pm. Works not claimed at this time without alternate pickup arrangements with Jules will become the property of the Schack Art Center.
Documentation
The Schack Art Center reserves the right to photograph entries for the purposes of documentation, education and marketing.
