The 96th Juried Artists Exhibition
The San Antonio Art League + Museum invites artists from across Texas to enter the 96th Juried Artists Exhibition, the longest-running juried art show in the state. This historic exhibition celebrates excellence in contemporary art and offers a unique opportunity to showcase your work in one of Texas’s most respected venues.Prizes and awards total over $10,000, including named awards in a variety of media. Our distinguished juror will select approximately 65 works for exhibition, giving artists statewide recognition and a chance to be part of a storied artistic legacy that began in 1927.Join generations of Texas artists who have made their mark through this prestigious event. We welcome entries in all media from artists 18 and older living in Texas.
General Guidelines
Eligibility:
1. All SAAL+M members and nonmembers with established current residency in the State of Texas including armed forces personnel stationed in Texas and their dependents.
2 . Non-resident SAAL+M members who have been members for three consecutive years or more.

Artwork Requirements:
1. All entries must follow the timelines provided.
2. Image submission via ArtCall must follow the guidelines in the SAAL+M prospectus.
3. To be juried, entries must:
4. Be original and completed after December 1, 2024
5. Have NOT been exhibited in previous SAAL+M juried exhibitions
6. Have NOT been completed under instruction or in direct association with a class or workshop.
7. Once accepted, ARTWORK MUST:
8. Be ready for display – dried, physically stable and wired for hanging. 2-D or 3-D artwork for hanging may not exceed 72” in height or 50” in width including frame or weigh more than 50 lbs. (D-rings strongly recommended on ALL hanging artwork)
9. NOT exceed 72” X 50” X 30” or weigh more than 150 pounds for indoor three-dimensional works
10. Have a stable base for 3-D outdoor sculpture
11. Have a completed ID tag (available on this prospectus) attached to the back, upper right-hand corner of the artwork for 2-D work or the bottom of 3-D work
12. Be part of the exhibit until the closing date and NOT picked up early by the artist or purchaser.

Presentation:

2D Works: Must be ready to hang with secure hardware—either framed or gallery-wrapped.
3D Works: Must be stable, self-supporting, and safe for public display. Size limit no larger than 18x18x18 and no heavier than 25 lbs.
For the safety of the work and the curators and installers, these presentation guidelines are non-negotiable and work that is not securely and professionally presented for installation with be returned to the artist.

Number of Submissions:
You do NOT have to be a SAAL+M member to enter. NonSAAL+M members can join SAAL+M before submission at https://www.saalm.org/online-membership-form.html and your membership will be valid thru June of 2026.
Non-SAAL+M members: $50 for up to 3 artworks MUST be paid at time of submission through ArtCall.
SAAL+M members: $35 for up to 3 artworks MUST be paid at the time of submission through ArtCall.

Submission Process:
Submission period is 11/17/25 to 2/01/26.
ALL submissions will be online. Upload images of your artwork via ArtCall at https://www.saalm.org/96 
Please do NOT include frames for images of 2-D work or distracting backgrounds for 3-D artwork. 
Please submit images as jpg files using the following guidelines: 300 dpi images no larger than 5 MB or 72 dpi images with the larger dimension at 1800 pixels.
Jury Process:
Monetary awards and honorary recognitions will be based on accepted physical artwork delivered to SAAL+M. The juror and SAAL+M reserve the right to re-consider delivered artwork if it’s different than the submitted image or does not match the description. These works may or may not be included in the exhibition at the discretion of the committee.
NOTE: There will be a limit of one piece of artwork accepted from any artist’s submissions.

Sales:
All artwork exhibited MUST BE PRICED and available for sale. SAAL+M requests a donation of 40% of the sale price and the artist will receive 60%.

ABOUT THE JUROR:
Catherine Walworth is Curator at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, where she brings a lively, cross-disciplinary lens to modern art. Her upcoming exhibition, Architects of Being: Louise Nevelson and Esphyr Slobodkina, debuted 2025 before touring nationally. At AMFA, she has also curated Path to Abstraction: Picasso, Braque, and Cubism’s Impact on Modern Art and Kwame Brathwaite: The 1970s, while guiding significant new acquisitions for the collection. 
Previously, Walworth shaped exhibitions at the Columbia Museum of Art, including Jackson Pollock: Mural and The Ironic Curtain: Art from the Soviet Underground.
She holds a Ph.D. in art history from The Ohio State University, and her award-nominated book Soviet Salvage reflects her passion for connecting art with broader cultural histories.
