Juror: Shane McDonald
Shane McDonald, a fine artist, has created oil and pastel paintings for patrons throughout the Southeast since obtaining his
Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Kennesaw State University in 1992. His classical drawing and painting training, coupled
with his willingness to embrace contemporary art trends, has earned him respect as a fine artist and instructor in the Atlanta
area.
Shane has dedicated his life to the art community, serving as a mentor to young artists through teaching and demonstrations,
facilitating art critiques and open studio figure drawing groups, and leading arts organizations. His fine art landscapes are
currently represented by Robert Kent Gallery in Marietta, Georgia. Figurative works and still-life paintings are also available in
his commercial studio and gallery at the Artisan Resource Center in Marietta, Georgia.
Shane’s proficiency in diverse subject matter and media has allowed him to create masterful murals in public institutions and
private residences. However, his name is most renowned for his exquisite portraits in oil and pastel.
Shane has received numerous awards for his works at juried competitions. His paintings are housed in the permanent collections
of the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, Kennesaw State University, the Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center at East Carolina
University, Erskine College, SC, the Florida State College of Law, and the Zuckerman Museum of Art. Learn more:

About AAC – a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. AAC was founded in 1954 by a small group of
watercolor painters searching for a place to paint and exhibit their work. After a series of rented
spaces, this growing group of artists pooled their resources to obtain the space now known as
Atlanta Artists Center. Located on a charming street in the bustling heart of Buckhead, it is one
