Pieces of Me: A Story of Self asks artists to explore their unique identities and perspectives. You are encouraged to delve into your experiences, emotions, memories, and cultural backgrounds to create artworks representing different aspects of self.
Your submission to Pieces of Me: A Story of Self will help create a thought-provoking art exhibition that explores the intricate layers of human identity. All mediums, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed media, are welcome.
Your piece in the exhibition should explore fragments of your artist’s inner self and how you express your unique experiences, beliefs, and struggles. From introspective self-portraits to abstract representations of personal journeys, “Pieces of Me” invites you, the artist, to reflect on your own identity and the multifaceted nature of humanity.
We invite you to add your voices and narratives to those of fellow artists, celebrating the richness of culture, gender, race, or spirituality and contributing to a larger conversation on the walls of the gallery about self-discovery and acceptance.
All work will be juried by an independent juror: Adrien Smart

You may also notice that our goal for 2024, is to enhance our visual art exhibits by asking our artists to suggest music pairings that inspired their work, or speak to it in some way. We create the playlists on YouTube and make them available to the public via a link on our website. If you are submitting your artwork, please also mull over some “self reflective” music that might accompany your piece!

ADDITIONAL NOTES:For this show we are adding an audio component and are creating a playlist of music that is linked to the pieces on display.  We are interested in listening to the playlist our artists choose of music which has influenced and inspired your investigation into the theme of 'pieces of me' . Your participation in the music selection activity is entirely optional and the juror will not see your choice nor description of why you chose it. The playlist will be available through regular music-streaming platforms and links are provided on our website.The artist statement that is on your personal data page (email, phone number..) is just a short information statement about you as an artist. This section only allows 100 words (700 characters). It is a place for you to say something about yourself as an artist. There is an opportunity later in the submissions form to talk about what inspired you to create your individual submissions.For any sections that allow longer text we suggest writing it in a word document then cutting and pasting into ArtCall as the website times out in one hour and it's surprising how fast that can happen! Alternatively, be sure to update the submission frequently with the update button at the end of the page.We charge a $10 submission fee per art piece. Artists are allowed to submit up to 3 pieces. If you are accepted to the show, there is an additional $10.00 per piece hanging fee which ArtCall calls the 'booth' fee, and which you will have to pay to be entered properly in the show. Please use the drop down menu and request a 1x1x1 booth on the submission form. We charge 30% commission on art pieces sold.
There will be a Show Opening Celebration on Saturday June 1st from 2pm - 4pm which is open to all, and especially to participating artists who are invited to briefly speak about their pieces in the show. That is also where the Juror is introduced and invited to speak about their work and selection process. The three Juror's choice awards are presented towards the end of the event!
