The Putnam Arts Council and Putnam County Tourism are partnering to challenge area artists to participate in a show featuring beautiful Putnam County. All submissions will be accepted, awards will be provided, and the work will be exhibited in the A. Eric Arctander Gallery as well as featured virtually throughout the Fall. This opportunity looks to engage artists, celebrate their talents, and showcase the beauty of Putnam County.
Eligibility: New York artists from Peekskill to Poughkeepsie, 13 years or older, are invited to submit up to 2 pieces of original works created between July 16th and August 16th. Painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photography, digital art, sculpture, pottery and mixed media are accepted. All styles, up to 36 inches in any direction for 2-dimensional work, 3-dimensional work must be manageable by one person. Works must feature Putnam County scenes. You can select any outdoor location in the county, please contact the location in advance of your visit to learn about admission and safety requirements. PAC’s Visual Arts Committee reserves the right to eliminate work that is deemed inappropriate.
Submission of Artwork - Digital Images: Artwork can be submitted starting June 5th and must be completed by June 25th, 2021. See below for further instructions and a video tutorial that details the submission process.
How to Submit Artwork:
You will have to register first.
Click the button (link) at the top left of the screen that says, “Register & Apply.”
Create an account/user profile, including a password. Keep this info for future logins
Once logged in, you will see “the “User Dashboard” click on: Add New Submission +
Enter the entry details and click on: Submit Entry Details
Click on: + Add Attachment to upload your entry
After it finishes uploading click on: Complete & View Entry
Now you see a message confirming your successful submission J, click on: Got it!
If you want to submit another entry (limit of two), click on: Add New Submission+
Repeat the above process
User Entry Process Tutorial (the screens look different, but the process is similar):
Entry Fees: $25 for PAC member artists for up to two entries; $30 for non-members.
Artists can also join at time of drop off. Submission forms will be provided at drop off. All works should reflect the beauty and diversity of Putnam County and must be hand delivered to the A. Eric Arctander Gallery of the Putnam Arts Council, 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac (see dates below).
Awards: Best in Show $150, Second Place ($100) and Third Place ($75) will be selected by the Visual Arts Committee of the Putnam Arts Council. Cash awards will be presented at the opening reception on Saturday, September 4th.
Promotional badges for the selected artwork will be sent to each artist to share in social media.
Additional Benefits: All appropriate submissions will be displayed on Putnam Arts Council’s virtual gallery, PAC’s social media and Putnam County Tourism’s social network platforms. Images will also be considered for promotional purposes by Putnam County Tourism. Award winners may also be displayed at sites throughout Putnam County at the discretion of the Putnam Arts Council.
