Submit your most sky-driven artwork inspired by Northern Skies—aurora, starfields, winter twilight, moonlit clouds, polar light, and atmospheric drama. We’re seeking 2D fine art that captures the emotion of looking up: wonder, stillness, power, mystery, and vastness.
For Northern Skies (April 2026), Hunter Guise Gallery is looking for artwork that explores the sky as a subject—whether your work is bold or subtle, expressive or realistic, abstract or minimalist. Your piece can focus on sweeping atmosphere or intimate light. The key is that the sky (or the sense of sky) leads the viewer and creates a strong mood.
Curator’s Challenge (optional): Make the sky dominant—at least 70% of the composition, or unmistakably the main subject.Submission Guidelines:Detailed submission instructions, including image specs, entry fees, and terms, can be found below.About the Exhibition:We are an online fine art gallery dedicated to showcasing exceptional contemporary work and building meaningful exposure for Canadian artists. After running the very successful Northern Beauty Juried Online Exhibition in September 2025, we’re continuing to expand opportunities that increase artists’ visibility online—connecting their work with collectors and art lovers through curated exhibitions, thoughtful promotion, and a professional digital platform.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

All artwork must be original. No AI-generated work, no work created in workshops, no use of stock photography—only your own reference material or plein air work.
Accepted media: all 2D visual media (e.g., oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour, mixed media, etc. but not photography or sculpture)
Fees (CAD, non-refundable): $12 CAD first image, $10 each additional image, maximum 3 images per artist.
Image file naming format* (mandatory):Firstname-Lastname-Title-Size-Medium-PriceExample: Sue-Smith-PineTree-25x20-Oil-375.jpg*size in inches only (rounded, no decimals).
IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS:File size: minimum 960 px on the longest sizeResolution: max 1920 px resolutionFile format: JPG or PNG

People's Choice Award:

3 artworks will be recognized each month in our People's Choice Awards.

Awards are contingent on minimum participation. In the event of low entries, awards may be reduced or withdrawn, but the exhibition will still proceed unless otherwise announced.
Up to 100 selected entries will be featured on this site for the duration of the show.
Curator(s): Susan Hunter Guise of Hunter Guise Gallery will curate this show.
TERMS & CONDITIONSEligibility: you must be 18 years of age or older to participate.ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:• all submitted work must be original, created from your own reference material.• No AI-generated images, workshop pieces, or work created under instruction will be accepted.
ENTRY FEES: Submission fees are non-refundable and must be paid at the time of submission.• Fees: $12 CAD for the 1st image, $10 each additional image, maximum of 3 per artist.• Entries without payment will not be reviewed.
CURATING PROCESS: Curator(s) decisions are final. Submissions will be evaluated based on overall artistic merit, originality, emotional impact, and how well the piece reflects the monthly theme. We reserve the right not to award all prizes if the curator(s) determine the submissions do not meet the standard.
SUBMISSION, NOTIFICATION and EXHIBITION: Submissions open Feb 14, 2026 and close March 25, 2026. Notification of results will be sent via email by March 30th. The exhibition will run online from April 1-30, 2026. Selected artists will have their work displayed from April 1-30, 2026.
COPYRIGHT & PROMOTION: Artists retain full copyright of their work. By submitting, you grant Hunter Guise Gallery the non-exclusive right to display your artwork image(s) on Hunter Guise Gallery and ArtCall websites and social media platforms for the purpose of promoting this and future exhibitions.
DISQUALIFICATION: Hunter Guise Gallery reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not follow the guidelines or contain misleading, plagiarized, or inappropriate content.
EMAIL PERMISSION: By submitting your image and filling out the submission form, you agree to the use of your email address by Hunter Guise Gallery for the purposes of notifying you of exhibition results, and periodic newsletters and email promotions.
