A WCA/NH Members’ Open ExhibitionKimball Jenkins 266 N. Main St.Concord, NH 03301SHOW DATES: January 18 - March 1, 2025ARTIST RECEPTION: January 23, 2025
WCA/NH members are invited to exhibit work in a exhibition entitled The invinciblewithin at Kimball Jenkins in Concord, NH. The show will be on view at the Jill C.Wilson Gallery located in the Carriage House and the Carolyn Jenkins Gallerylocated in the Victorian Mansion. For more about Kimball Jenkins click here.
Pairing art with floral design, select artworks within this exhibit will serve asinspiration for Art & Bloom, an annual exhibit of innovative floral arrangementspresented by the Concord Garden Club. The WCA/NH show will be accompaniedby the floral arrangements January 23-25, 2025 with a joint opening/reception onThursday, January 23, from 5-7 pm. For more about past Art & Bloom eventsclick here.
The WCA/NH’s exhibition, The Invincible within will debut a week before theGarden Club event and run through March 1. The entire show in both spaces willbe open as part of the three days of festivities surrounding Art & Bloom.
Curating process:WCA/NH members submit art and the show’s curator, WCA/NH founding member,Inez McDermott will choose work with a view to inclusion. We expect to be able toinclude at least one work from each artist/member who submits.● Garden Club members will then have an opportunity to select art(approximately 25 pieces total) from WCA/NH submission photos to inspiretheir floral arrangements.● Art that will be accompanied by floral arrangements for the Art & Bloomevent will be displayed in the Carolyn Jenkins Gallery, located in theVictorian Mansion.● Work not paired with arrangements will be on display in the Jill C. WilsonGallery located in the Carriage House. Please note that this venue can alsoaccommodate larger works.
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS:Any medium will be considered. There is no expectation of work depicting flowers. TheGarden Club participants are open to any style or subject matter. 3-D works will beconsidered, but please submit those early in the process.If framed, works on paper should be matted or lifted away from the glass with archivalmatting or spacers.Frames and mats must be clean, professionally cut/constructed, and undamaged.At delivery, all framed works must be wired and ready to hang.Saw tooth hangers, Pop-in frames, free standing, and PLASTIC frames NOT accepted.The curator and the Executive Director of Kimball Jenkins reserve the right to reject anywork upon delivery that is not professionally presented.
ELIGIBILITY: You must be a current dues paying member of WCA/NH toparticipate.You must submit at least two, but preferably three works for consideration bythe curator.FEES: Each WCA/NH member will be required to pay a single flat fee of $20.00 for upto three works submitted.
INSURANCE: Your work will be insured by Kimball Jenkins while on the premisesof the gallery. You will be responsible for insurance during delivery or shipping.
SALES: Kimball Jenkins will not be involved in sales of your work. A gallery sheetwill be available at the show and if an interested party inquires, they will contact theartist directly. Your contact information can be posted on the wall labels and sales maytake place via ArtCall. We will provide more information regarding sales at the time ofthe curator’s decisions.
DELIVERY AND PICKUP: Delivery to Kimball Jenkins will take place Sunday, January12, 2025 from 11-2 and Monday, January 13, from 3-6. Important dates are listedbelow. Pickup times are Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 2-5, Sunday, March 2 from 10-2. Any unclaimed work will become the property of Kimball Jenkins and will be disposedof at their discretion. Work must remain in the exhibit from drop-off until pickup with nono exceptions.
SHIPPED WORK: Address shipped work to: Gallery, Kimball Jenkins , 266 N. Main St.Concord, NH 03301. Work must arrive by January10, 2025 to be included. Anyshipped work must include a prepaid return shipping label. If you intend to retrieve yourwork at the end of the show, please put a note to that effect in the box with thework.
GALLERY VIEWING HOURS: Wednesdays:2-6 pm. 1/22. 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26Thursdays: 2-6 pm, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27*Thursday, 1/23 Art and Bloom Event, 2- 7pm including the reception 5-7 pm Friday, 1/24, 10am-6pm Saturday, 1/25: 10am-4pm
First Friday in Concord event: Friday, 2/7 4-8 pm
At a later date, WCA/NH will be sending out requests for volunteers to be present duringthese times since the staff is around but not necessarily available to talk to visitorsabout the art.
