OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:
A LIVE in Gallery Exhibition for two months and a VIRTUAL Exhibition that will be up for one year.Open to Artists Worldwide.The Award-Winning Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire, announces a Call for Entry to a juried art competition and exhibition featuring Printmaking. An artistic process based on the principle of transferring images from a plate, block or screen onto another surface, most often paper or fabric. Techniques include monoprints, relief (linoleum or woodcut), collagraph, screen printing, intaglio, lithography, serigraphs and more. * Giclée prints and digital prints are not accepted. DATES: Submissions Due – November 30, 2023

Third Place - 1 month Printmaking Membership at the Art Center ELIGIBILITY:Participation is open to all artists 18+Application Checklist:1. All practicing printmakers worldwide are invited to submit 1 – 3 original prints (no digital prints). 2. Entries are to be the work of the artist, completed in the past 5 years.3. Works can be in any printmaking medium (or combination of media).4. All entrants must submit high quality images of each work entered, submitted electronically with a file labeled last name, first name, name of work. JPEG format at 300 dpi, 2 MB maximum size. 5. All online application materials must be received by November 18, 2023 and announcements will be made on November 22, 2023.6. The works are required to be delivered, unframed, by December 23, 2023.7. Works must be in excellent condition on arrival. Artists are required to package work carefully for transport. The Art Center of Dover takes no responsibility for works lost or damaged in transit.8. All submitted works will join the Art Center Permanent Collection at the close of the exhibition. Kate Higley’s work has been accepted and exhibited in thirteen national juried printshows since 2006 and is in private and public collections here and abroad. Hermemberships include The Boston Printmakers, The North of Boston Print Collaborative,The Barn Gallery in Ogunquit, and the New Hampshire Art Association. She served forseven years as exhibitions chair and member of the board of the Monotype Guild ofNew England and is past president of The Women’s Caucus for Art, NH Chapter. Higleyworks in a variety of print media and has had a long career as an instructor ofprintmaking, painting, and drawing.Her work was featured on the back cover of the Washington Print Club’s Journal of Printin 2021 and her solo painting exhibit at Gateway Gallery at Great Bay CommunityCollege was featured in ArtScope Magazine’s February 2018 issue. Higley's prints areincluded in two of the Corcoran College of Art’s Annual Print Portfolios.ENTRY FEE:Non-Members: $25 nonrefundable fee per entry entitles the submission of up to three (one image per artwork).For Art Center Members: No entry fee. Membership must be valid through the end of the exhibition.
Payment via ArtCallARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:Selected artworks should be mailed to the Art Center without any frame but can be matted. The largest dimension must not exceed 40 inches. If possible please sign the print at the bottom with the edition, title, name and date.
SALES: The gallery will vigorously promote sales of your work during the live exhibition and on line during the virtual exhibition. Should you not wish to continue to offer the work after the live exhibition, we will mark the work unavailable but it will remain on our website for publicity. For any artwork sales: artist receives 70% of the sale price; The Art Center retains 30%. AGREEMENT: The Art Center reserves the right to photograph an accepted work for publication and publicity purposes.
