About Gallery A3
Gallery A3’s 11th Annual Juried Show offers local and regional artists an opportunity to exhibit their work in an active downtown gallery and in turn, gives the community a chance to discover artists who may be living just across town or several towns, or states away. A cooperative, contemporary fine art gallery, Gallery A3 is located in the Cinema courtyard in downtown Amherst. Current members include painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers, and mixed-media artists. During its 24-year history, A3 has been home to over 75 artists, mounting monthly exhibits and offering cultural events and community collaborations.
The Gallery hosts opening receptions every month; Art Forums, free and open to the public, are scheduled on the third Thursday. The Art in Community II outreach program is supported by grants from the Amherst Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Theme
This year, the theme is Everyday Sublime.
Traditionally, the sublime describes awe, wonder, and sometimes fear in the face of nature’s immensity. It holds a special place in art history in its challenge to artists to portray personal experiences in an impersonal universe. At a time when the world can feel unnervingly tamed or overwhelmingly all-consuming, where and how does the Everyday Sublime present itself?
Submission Guidelines
Artists, 18 and older and living in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Rhode Island or Maine are invited to submit images between May 10 - June 7.
The fee is $38 for three entries, $7 for one additional entry, up to a maximum of four images.
Two dimensional art work must be no wider than 26 inches and no higher than 72 inches. Sculpture (3-D) work must not exceed 18 lbs and 26 inches in any dimension.
You will be notified of jury results in an email by June 22.
Accepted art should be delivered to the gallery in person on Saturday, August 1, 7-9 pm, or Sunday, August 2, 10 am-12 noon. We regret we are unable to receive accepted work by mail.
