The representation of the human figure in art stands as one of the oldest, most enduring, and most versatile motifs in human history. From prehistoric symbols to modern digital abstractions, the body has served as a mirror for shifting cultural values, spiritual beliefs, political statements, and psychological realities. How an artist chooses to render the figure is often influenced by the mood of their surroundings.

The Rehoboth Art League invites its members to interpret works exploring the human form, body language, and figurative art in their own way. All mediums and styles are welcomed.

Application Deadline: Monday, September 13, 2027 (4pm).

Notification of Acceptance: by Thursday, September 16, 2027.

Delivery of Works (if accepted): Friday, September 17 through Sunday, September 26, 2027.

Opening Reception: Friday, October 1, 2027

Pick up of Unsold Works: Tuesday and Wednesday, November 2 and 3, 2027.

Awards: There are no awards for this showcase.

Submission Requirements

Membership must be current upon applying. Each artist may submit up to two (2) works for review. Submitted works must be produced no earlier than 2025 and never have been displayed in any RAL gallery/exhibition.  All work must be for sale. There is no size restriction for works in this exhibition. Submission images must be less than 4MB each.  Upon each submission, you will receive an email confirming acceptance. You may re-enter the call until the deadline to delete, change, and/or edit your submissions. Pick-up and Delivery

Delivery dates are as noted above. Pick-up dates are within 2 days following the last day of the exhibition. All artwork must be picked up by the artist and/or shipping arrangements prepaid and prearranged by the artist at the end date of the show. RAL is not responsible for the return of any artwork(s) if unclaimed, or when no arrangements have been made. There is a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) / day / piece for any work(s) that remains at the RAL after 2 days following the close of the exhibition. The RAL is not responsible for any wrapping materials or boxes left at the time of delivery.

Insurance:

Although every effort will be made in the safe handling of artwork, Rehoboth Art League will not be held liable for any theft or damage of consigned artwork during the exhibition period. The artist is responsible for packing, shipping, insurance and other handling expenses and the risk of loss or damage incurred in the delivery of the artworks to the RAL. The RAL shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any artworks that occur after their delivery to the gallery and until they are either sold or picked up by the artist. The artist is responsible for the return (by pick-up or delivery) of all unsold work(s).

Display

Works will be displayed at the discretion of the Exhibitions Director and all work is to remain on display throughout the entire length of the exhibition.  All 2-D works must be wall hung ready with wire. Sawtooth hangers are not permitted. Any special requirements for hanging must be discussed with the Exhibitions Director in advance of delivery.

Commissions

All works must be available for sale. The artist will receive a sixty-five percent (65%) payment for any works sold during this exhibition. Following the exhibition: the artist must pay a thirty (35%) percent commission to the RAL for any work(s) sold outside of the RAL to a buyer who was introduced to the work(s) while on display during this exhibition. Membership must be current. Payment will be held for lapsed membership.

Any works remaining at the RAL after one (1) month past the end date of this exhibition may be forfeited to the Rehoboth Art League.
