CALL TO ARTISTS - 2025 FASM JURIED ART SHOW
The Fine Arts Society of Milton (FASM) invites Ontario based artists to submit up to two recent works (2023 - 2025), to our Juried Art Show.
The Show runs from August 27 to September 13, 2025 at theFirstOntario Arts Centre, Milton in the Holcim Gallery.
An Opening Night Ceremony will be held on August 27, 2025 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, where we willannounce the award winners, followed by refreshments. The selected Artists will be invited to arrive priorto the opening to have an opportunity to meet and discuss their artworks with the Jurors.
All works must be submitted on the FASM.ca website starting June 1 and ending Aug 1, 2025
There is a non-refundable submission fee of $35.00 for FASM Members and $45.00 for non-members.
This fee is for up to TWO pieces of art.

There will be $1,300.00 in Awards which will be selected by our independent jurors.Awards:First Place: $500Second Place: $350Third Place: $250Honourable Mention: Two prizes of $100 each
OUR JURORS:JOANNE POLUCHJoanne Poluch is the owner of Remarque Art Consulting in Guelph, Ontario. Joanne holds an HonoursDegree in Art History from the University of Guelph and an Art Marketing Diploma from SothebysInstitute in New York. Joanne is frequently called upon to be a guest speaker for numerous art groupsand events both at the national and international level. As a popular and introspective juror, Joanneremains a quintessential player on the art scene, enjoying a very active art coaching/mentoring practicewith artists across Canada. Joanne holds the position of Manager of the Art Sales & Rental program atthe Art Gallery of Guelph.PETER CHEUNGBorn in Hong Kong and now residing in Burlington, Ontario, Peter Cheung is a dynamic Canadian Artist.Cheung’s journey into the world of art began under the tutelage of a renowned Chinese painting master,where he honed his skills in the delicate art of ink and water painting. Over time, he seamlesslyintegrated the swift and robust brushwork of Chinese painting into his western oils and watercolours,creating an aesthetic unique to him.He believes that good art should allow the viewer to look ‘into’ it rather than just ‘at’ it. This philosophy isa fundamental part of his artistic approach. Cheung’s work is designed to create a connection with theviewer, allowing them to experience the energy, life force, and movement encapsulated within eachpiece. Cheung is a highly acclaimed artist known for his diverse portfolio, including textbook illustrationsand engaging public painting classes. ENTRY GUIDELINES:1. Entry is exclusively online. No other form of entry will be accepted.2. An artist may submit a maximum of TWO entries.3. There is a non-refundable $35.00 submission fee for FASM members and $45.00 for non-members, for up to two art works.4. Art works must be the artist's original created within the last two years (2023 - 2025).5. Only enter works for the Call which will be available for display during the exhibition.6. A brief (200 word maximum) Artist’s bio must be included in your submission.7. A brief (200 word maximum) written Artist’s statement of each work must be included in your submission.8. Submissions will be accepted from June 1st to August 1st, 2025.9. Successful entrants will be notified by email on August 11th, 2025.10. Entries that are accepted must be on display from August 27th to September 13th.11. Accepted artwork must be received at the Holcim Gallery on August 25th between 5:00 and 7:00pm.12. The exhibition is juried by digital image files.13. Digital files must be in jpeg or png format, no more than 5MB in size and readable on a PC. For sculpture entries, please submit at least 2 images per artwork.14. Sales/Commissions - A commission of 20% will be deducted from the sale price of artwork sold while in the Juried Show.
INSURANCE:The Town of Milton provides insurance coverage for artworks while on display in the Holcim Gallery subject to a maximum $3,000 per work. Accidental breakage of glass or other fragile article damage, including frames, is not covered. Any insurance claims must be made before artwork is removed fromthe Gallery. Valuation is based on cost of replacement of materials or proof of the sales of comparable works in the last 24 months.TERMS AND CONDITIONS:The decision of the Jurors is final.By submitting to this exhibition, you agree to allow reproduction of your digital files for educational, publicity and archival purposes, unless we are informed otherwise in writing.

Painting/Two Dimensional Art Specifications:Acceptable Media for 2 dimensional works:Acrylic, oil, water colour, pencil/charcoal, mixed media, textile artUnacceptable Media: photography, computer or AI generated, functional art, wet or unfinished piecesArtwork Specifications including the frame:Maximum Size: 40” wide by 48” tallHanging: All work must be properly wired and ready to hang. NO saw tooth hangers.We will not be repairing or accepting works that are wet or not ready to hang.Framing: We welcome framed and unframed works. Do not use eye hooks for security hanging wire, D rings only. NO saw tooth hangers.If the work is designed to hang unframed, the sides must be painted for a tailored, finished look and canvas wrapped pieces must have a gallery depth of no less that 1.5 inches. We will not hang pieces of 1 inches or less, unframed canvas board, or “dollar store” canvas.Sculpture Specifications:Acceptable Media:Metal, wood, glass, clay, stone, resin, mixed mediaSculpture Dimensions:Pedestal displayed sculptures: 22” x 22” x 22” or 22” x 22” x 44” maximum sizesFloor displayed sculptures: Minimum of 48” tall to a maximum of 72” tall.All floor sculptures must be stable and self supporting.
