Faces of the Ojai Valley
Entrants for this exhibition must be current members of the Ojai Valley Museum Artist Registry. (Free to join if you meet the qualifications. Visit ojaivalleymuseum.org/artist-registry for details.) All gallery media are acceptable.
Up to three (3) works may be submitted along with a description that explains how each piece fits the theme "Faces of the Ojai Valley." While faces generally make us think of portraits, entries can encompass ideas beyond the human face. Perhaps an animal? A mountain face? An Ojai-centric idea that the artist wants viewers to face? Of course, portraits of local Ojai people are welcome too. 
Entry fees are $20 for one artwork, then $10 for each additional. Entry fees will not be refunded if work is not accepted after the jurying process. All submissions must be received by January 1, 2027.
All artwork must have been completed within the last five years and is encouraged to be for sale. The Ojai Valley Museum will handle all sales, including sales tax. The Museum's commission is 30% of the sale price.
All artwork must meet professional presentation standards. Wall-hung pieces may not exceed 48" in any direction (including framing), and must be securely wired for hanging. No sawtooth hangers. Heavy three-dimensional works may require artist installation.
Copyright infringement of any kind is unacceptable. All entered artwork must be the artist's own original creation. Artwork created in an instructional setting is not considered to be original artwork.
Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of their works. Every precaution will be taken in handling the artwork; however, no liability for damages or loss will be assumed by the Ojai Valley Museum, its staff, or volunteers. If artists wish to insure their work they must provide that insurance themselves. Artists retain copyright to their submitted image(s). However, accepted images become part of Ojai Valley Museum's archives and may be used in promotion for this exhibition or future exhibitions.
Works not meeting exhibition criteria or differing from entry submission images will be disqualified.
Important Dates
January 1, 2027: All entries due.January 12, 2027: Jury process complete and artists notified of results (on website and via email).February 9, 2027: Artists deliver accepted artwork to Ojai Valley Museum, 10 am - 4 pm.February 18, 2027: Exhibition opens to the public.February 19, 2027: Free public opening reception from 5-7 pm at Ojai Valley Museum.May 4, 2027: Artists pick up unsold artwork from Ojai Valley Museum, 10 am - 4 pm.
