Meet our Juror: Sally Terrell, SSA
Sally is a Signature Scratchboard Artist in the International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA) and has served on the board as Secretary for the last six years. She has received 2 ISSA awards; the Memorial Award and the Pushing Boundaries Award. Her scratchboard, “Charmed”, won Best in Show at the D’Art Gallery in Norfolk, and she was named one of 96 artists in Artist Magazine’s Strokes of Genius contest.
Sally was a high school art teacher in North Carolina before becoming a full time artist. She has experimented with various media including pastels, felt art and scratchboard art. Even though she was drawn to pastels and felt art because of the vivid colors, she is most intrigued by Scratchboard. She especially enjoys creating art with animals and has fun putting them in unique situations which makes the viewer smile.
She strives to infuse her work with a positive energy, attitude, or message, which she strongly believes impacts the viewer.
