Da Vinci Art Alliance invites female and female-identifying artists nationwide to submit self-portrait works for The Female Gaze, an exhibition honoring the art of female self-representation. Organized by award-winning self-portrait artist Sarah R. Bloom, this exhibition will highlight diverse and authentic portrayals of women through their own lenses, reclaiming the power of representation from the traditional "male gaze." 
Submission Details
For a submission fee of $25 artists may submit up to three works. We welcome submissions in all visual media, including painting, photography, collage, digital art, video, sculpture, and mixed media. 
Eligibility: Open to all female and female-identifying artists living in the United States.Submission Requirements:
Artists may submit up to 3 works, and up to three high-resolution images of each artwork. No size restriction but must be able to fit through the front door (36" wide by 88" tall)A brief artist statement (100–200 words) A CV or short bio.

Meet the Jurors

Chelsey Luster: I am a Philadelphia-based curator, educator, and visual artist originally from Baltimore, Maryland, with aBachelor of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art and Architecture. As a curator, I am committed tofostering environments for artistic expression that highlight the intersections of queerness, race, andgender, while challenging monolithic beliefs about diverse cultures through immersive installations.Currently, I serve as the Exhibition Manager at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens and have curatedexhibitions at institutions such as IceBox Project Space, Da Vinci Art Alliance, the Center for EmergingVisual Artists, and the William Way LGBT+ Center. My practice emphasizes long-term support andcreative agency, reshaping the power dynamics between curators and artists to build a care-centeredcommunity.

Lauren Rinaldi (b. 1983, Brooklyn, NY) is an American artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, Lauren is represented by Paradigm Gallery + Studio. She has exhibited her work in solo shows at Paradigm Gallery + Studio in Philadelphia and extensively in group shows throughout the United States. In addition to maintaining a vibrant studio practice, Lauren is deeply engaged in her community. She serves as the Arts & Culture Liaison for Council member Rue Landau, is a trained muralist, an independent curator, and an active participant in local political organizing and volunteer efforts. Balancing these roles with her life as a mother, Lauren brings a multifaceted perspective to her art and community work.

The Female Gaze will also serve as a fundraiser to support DVAA’s mission of fostering an inclusive and vibrant artistic community. Artists may be invited to participate in accompanying events such as talks, workshops, and community art projects.
