About the Theme:
"TERRAIN: Contemporary Abstract Landscapes" explores the dynamic convergence of landscape and abstraction in current art practices. For centuries, the landscape has been a powerful source of inspiration in art, from its classical depictions to the radical shift of modern abstraction. Today, contemporary artists continue to push the boundaries of this tradition, using abstraction to reimagine the natural world through new, innovative lenses.
This exhibition highlights how artists blend forms, textures, colors, and patterns to evoke the essence of landscapes rather than replicate them. In doing so, they transform the familiar elements of nature—such as terrain, light, and space—into unique abstract expressions. Through diverse mediums, including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital art, mixed media, and photography, the works in this exhibition reflect the multifaceted nature of the landscape, providing a deeper, often more personal connection to the world around us. TERRAIN celebrates these contemporary interpretations, offering a fresh perspective on how abstraction can expand our understanding of the environment.
