Call for Artists: Roam. Create. Send. – Verses in Transit
Let your creativity travel—one postcard at a time.
We're inviting visual storytellers and Whitman lovers from around the globe to participate in
Roam. Create. Send. – Verses in Transit, a juried exhibit that blends poetry, travel, and art in an
unforgettable way.
Your Mission:
Design original artwork on the front of a 4” x 6” blank postcard. On the reverse, share a
favorite Walt Whitman verse and cite its source (book, poem, etc.). Each postcard becomes both
a personal artistic creation and a traveling tribute to Whitman’s timeless themes.
How to Participate:
• Mail-in only: Send up to three postcards, one per envelope—because every card’s
journey is part of the experience.
• Entry Fee: $30 for up to 3 entries.
• Postmark Deadline: [Insert Specific Date]
What You Need to Include:
• Your name, CAFÉ submission number [Assuming one is provided?], and
Instagram/Facebook handles on each postcard.
• Entries missing these will not be eligible for jury review.
• All submissions become part of Trinity Community Art Center (TCAC’s) permanent
collection and may be featured on our social media, event promotions, and press
materials. Please note: submissions will not be returned.
Opening Night & Venue:
• September 20, 2025 | Trinity Community Arts Center, 130 Main Street, Northport, NY
• Artist Reception: Sunday, Sept. 21 from 3–6 PM
