Revival: A Call for Radical Care
Sulfur Studios invites artists working in all media to submit work for our curated exhibition; Revival: A Call for Radical Care.

As a culture, we have been indoctrinated into social norms that have driven us to lose touch with who we really are. This past year we have suffered through the collective trauma of the pandemic and the awakening of many people to the systemic racism and injustices present in our society. There is a common misconception that our world is changing, but it isn’t. The facade is crumbling.

In order to reveal our true selves, we must practice radical self and collective care. As the Nap Ministry states, “rest is a form of resistance because it pushes back against capitalism and white supremacy.”

Revival is a multidisciplinary exhibition that attempts to challenge how we interact with the world around us so we can begin the healing process.

What role do the arts play in the healing process? How do radical self and collective care inform your artistic practice? What strategies have you been using to facilitate radical care for yourself and your community?

We will accept all media for this call. Artists are strongly encouraged to submit work that pushes the boundaries of rest and radical care conceptually, aesthetically, or both.

Entry Fee:
$25 for non-members
$15 for members
