Description

REBIRTHING THE UNWANTED
Taking a closer look at the ways in which we evaluate and categorize objects, people, and places as "junk", "garbage", "dirt", or “trashy”.

Vignette is delighted to announce its first group exhibition, Rebirthing The Unwanted. This exciting event will bring together NYC-based emerging visual and sound artists who explore the impact of mainstream value judgment on individuals, in today’s advanced stage of capitalism. Simply put, we're reaching out to artists with existing work that have examined how we evaluate objects, people, and places as "junk," "garbage," or "dirt." We'd love to invite you to reflect on popular moral evaluation of tastes as "trashy," and we're hoping this will result in a thought-provoking show and insightful experience for everyone involved.

Selected artworks will be showcased in a group art exhibition in December 2024 in New York City (venue TBA next month).
