Description

The Hudson Milliner Art Salon is seeking small paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures (any width, up to 9” tall—sculptures can be up to 15" tall) to be displayed in our current show, Refraction! Portraits and figures are prioritized, but all subjects are welcome.

Accepted works will be displayed in our vintage glass case with tailored lighting, from the date received until the end of the exhibition. Sculptures taller than 9" will be displayed in street-facing windows or on pedestals.

Exhibition Length: April 11th - June 13th 2026
Exhibition Length: 2 Months

ELIGIBILITY
We welcome artists at all stages of their careers, from anywhere in the world. Artists are expected to handle all shipping and transportation to and from the gallery. Accepted works must be displayed for the full duration of the show.

All art mediums are welcome and encouraged.

Special attention will be given to:
*Art Exploring Perception:
How does a piece change when viewed by one person vs another? How does a subject change according to the artist’s own viewpoint?
*Protest Pieces, Commentary
*Small Sculpture
*Interdisciplinary, Collaborative Art
(e.g art with accompanying poetry or supplemental material)
*Mixed Media
*Environmental Awareness

OPPORTUNITIES
The Hudson Milliner Art Salon is a refurbished historic gallery combining modern amenities with 19th-century charm. In addition to displayed works, we also offer recorded interviews, panels, and artist talks to all accepted artists. With permission, these features may include an audience of ~10 - 40 art enthusiasts.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
Send up to 5 works and a brief artist’s statement to hudsonmillinersubmissions@gmail.com. Please specify dimensions and medium. A $12 entry fee is required for consideration: all submissions will receive a payment link in reply. We encourage all accepted artists to review gallery policies and additional info here: https://www.hudsonmillinerartsalon.com/open-calls

SALES
The gallery takes a 40% commission from any sold works. If a public talk, screening, or panel is ticketed, artists will receive an agreed-upon portion of ticket sales.
