Description
#ArtSpeaksOut is a video art initiative by ikonoTV dedicated to using artistic mediums to address environmental issues, celebrate the beauty of our planet, and inspire meaningful change.
We invite international video artists and filmmakers of all genres and aesthetics to submit video art, digital visuals, and short films up to 30 minutes in length that explore various aspects of global climate change and sustainability, reflecting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As some screenings may be silent, emphasis should be placed on effective visual storytelling.
This year, we are thrilled to partner with Extreme Hangout, known for their commitment to amplifying youth voices and fostering innovative dialogues on climate action. Selected works will be streamed on ikonoTV during COP29, the UN Climate Change Conference, and featured at 'Extreme Hangout' events throughout the conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11th to 22nd. Additionally, selected works will have the opportunity to be showcased at the Curitiba International Biennale in Brazil in 2025, curated by Marc Pottier under the theme “Earth Emotions.” We are also exploring further opportunities to expand the global reach of #ArtSpeaksOut.
