Description

Description
The Hudson Milliner Art Salon is seeking art that speaks to America—not just the political body—but the place, the culture, and the feeling, interpreted across time and by distinct peoples. America can be a frontier plain or a gilded skyscraper, and it belongs to everyone.

We want art that explores the multifaceted American experience, whether it depicts a place, a person, an event, or a moment in time. We are especially interested in collaborative and commentative works. To see our space and our past showings, visit our website: https://www.hudsonmillinerartsalon.com/exhibitions

Opening Date: November 15th
Exhibition Length: 1-2 Months

Eligibility
We welcome artists at all stages of their careers, from anywhere in the world. Artists are expected to handle all shipping and transportation to and from the gallery. Accepted works must be displayed for the full duration of the show.

All art mediums are welcome and encouraged. Digital works (excluding video) must be printed for display.

Special attention will be given to:
*Protest Pieces, Commentary
*Interdisciplinary, Collaborative Art
(e.g performance art, video art, art with poetry, art with music)
*Mixed Media
*Environmental Awareness

Display & Opportunities
The Hudson Milliner Art Salon is a refurbished historic gallery combining modern amenities with 19th-century charm. Most works will be mounted on walls. Video pieces will be projected on curtains in the gallery, and may also be projected on the street.

We also offer recorded interviews, panels, and artist talks to all accepted artists. If allowed, these features may include an audience of ~20 - 50 art enthusiasts.

Submission Process
Send up to 5 works and a brief artist’s statement to hudsonmillinersubmissions@gmail.com. Please specify dimensions and medium. A $30 entry fee is required for consideration: all submissions will receive a payment link in reply. We encourage all accepted artists to review gallery policies and additional info here: https://www.hudsonmillinerartsalon.com/open-calls

Sales
The gallery takes a 40% commission from any sold works. Artists will receive a portion of ticket sales for any publicized talk, screening, or panel, dependent on event type.
