Description
The Studios of Key West invites exhibition proposals from artists and curators producing thoughtful, conceptually strong work. Located in a historic Art Deco building in the heart of Old Town, The Studios presents nearly 30 exhibitions annually across four distinct gallery spaces, engaging a diverse audience of locals and visitors alike. We are currently seeking proposals for our 2026-27 season (November 2026-May 2027).
The Studios is particularly interested in projects that demonstrate artistic excellence, a clear curatorial vision, and a capacity to spark meaningful dialogue. Proposals may be solo or group exhibitions and should be thoughtfully considered in relation to space, audience, and context. We encourage work that may not otherwise find a venue in Key West, as well as projects that respond to place, community, or contemporary issues.
Exhibitions are on view for 3–4 weeks and open during our monthly First Thursday events. While work is often available for sale, our program is not commercially driven; selection is based on artistic merit and overall strength of proposal.
With four galleries—Sanger, XOJ, Zabar Project, and Zabar Lobby—The Studios supports a range of exhibition formats, from large-scale presentations to experimental or installation-based work. The Sanger Gallery, our primary exhibition space, is highly competitive, particularly during peak season (January–April), and typically features mid-career artists or curated group exhibitions.
Fee: None

Submissions are reviewed through a competitive process. We encourage applicants to submit proposals that are clear, cohesive, and tailored to our spaces.
