Dobbs Ferry Gateway Mural Wall

Description

The Village of Dobbs Ferry invites artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for the design of a permanent exterior mural at the primary entryway to Dobbs Ferry’s downtown business district. This inaugural public art commission will serve as a welcoming visual landmark for residents and visitors and help define the character of the Village’s commercial core. Emerging artists are welcome to apply, and artists with connections to Dobbs Ferry or the Hudson Valley region are especially encouraged. 2-3 invited finalists will each receive a $500 honorarium to develop site-specific concept drawings before the final artist/team is selected by the committee. The selected artist/team will receive $5,000 for their design.

A separate process and budget will be established for the fabrication/painting of the mural. The selected designer may be considered for that phase, but this RFQ pertains only to the design commission.

This is a fast-track commission; only artists available from June to August 2026 should apply. Submit your qualifications by May 22, 2026.
