Description

STCEA’s inaugural exhibition celebrates artists’ debuts and welcomes creative “firsts” from emerging artists: a first submission to an art exhibition, a first virtual show, a first STCEA show, or a first work in a new medium or style. Artists may submit photography, painting, fiber/textile, glass, collage and mixed media, drawing, sculpture, digital art, printmaking, woodworking, ceramic, pottery, or other visual art forms.

The entry fee is $25 for the first submission or $35 for up to three submissions. The maximum number of entries per artist is 3. Submissions are open to residents of the US and Canada from June 1 through November 30th, 2021, with entrants notified of acceptance in early December. Entries are evaluated and selected based on creativity, quality, and exhibit space. Depending on the number of submissions, a second show may be added.

Debut runs January 1st-31st, 2022, with the announcement of prize winners via YouTube on January 2, 2022 at 7 pm EST. Prize money will be awarded to best in show ($125), 1st place ($100), 2nd place ($75), and 3rd place ($50). A people’s choice award of $100 will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibit based on attendee voting. Prize winners and honorable mentions will receive a free entry to a future show. Print copies of the exhibition catalog will be available for an additional fee.
