Description
Contours of Him
A Global Open Call for Artists Exploring the Male Figure
The male body has long occupied a central place in art history. From ancient statues to Renaissance paintings, it was once idealised and revered. But in recent times, the male form has often been overlooked, simplified, or hidden from deeper expression.
Contours of Him invites artists from around the world to look again. This is an open call for anyone – regardless of gender, sexuality or background – to submit visual work that explores, questions, or reimagines the male figure.
This is not just a competition. It is a curated project that asks what it means to see and represent men today.
Men are complex. Their bodies carry stories of power, vulnerability, history, desire, struggle and joy. In a time when masculinity is being challenged and reshaped, the male form remains an essential subject for art.
We want to see men through your eyes. Not just how they look, but what they mean.
