Description

Chulitna Lodge Wilderness Retreat seeks to provide the time, space, clarity, and facilities for all forms of creative professionals or researchers to make and meditate. From visual artists, to writers, to scientific researchers, music, dance, and more, we encourage all to apply for our various programs.

Chulitna Lodge is 180 miles from the nearest road, with fly-in access only; a historical landmark on the shores of Lake Clark National Park.

Our Mission: to share a love for responsible exploration of our worlds most remote locations, with the intent of passing forward the value of maintaining such places wild, and to personally reap the benefits of life a world apart.

Accommodation
Each Fellow will have their own private cabin or yurt that doubles as their studio. Residents have options for a shared or private cabin, which also doubles as studio space.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
We encourage all creatives within any medium of visual, performance, music, film, literary arts, or those doing a research projects to apply.

Studio / Workspace
The studio space is the same as the living quarters. If more space is needed we can accommodate those needs by building a temporary studio, or creating temporary space in the Main Lodge. We also have a full wood shop and plentiful outdoor areas.

Fees and support
Fellows receive full funding to be at the lodge for 6 weeks. This includes room and board, a round-trip charter flight from Anchorage to our remote location, as well as a travel stipend to help in getting to Anchorage.

Short-term Residencies are on a weekly fee basis which covers room and board. Travel expenses are not included in the weekly rate, though assistance with booking the charter flight is provided.

Expectations towards the artist
Fellows and Resident Artists will present previous and current work in a presentation to lodge guests and artist peers in the program. Fellows will donate a piece of work to Chulitna Lodge.
