Description
The Board of the Tilton Fund Inc, a 501c3 is a non-profit affiliated with the Tilton Library, 75 North
Main Street, in Deerfield MA who is seeking an artisan to design and execute a donor wall and recognition plaques. The Tilton Library is currently undergoing an expansion process and capital
campaign to supplement monies received by the Mass Board of Library Commissioners for this project. Project will be completed May, 2025 with move in date June-July, 2025. You may review the extensive
materials regarding the history of the expansion project and its current progress on the Tilton Library website.
We are seeking a Pioneer Valley artist (preference – but will accept applications from Massachusetts artists only) to design a creative donor wall to honor and recognize significant community donations (library patrons, residents and local businesses) for this capital campaign. In addition, we will be needing approximately 10-15 donor plaques to recognize naming opportunities within the building. The Board is looking for a creative but readable donor appreciation art piece submission to be mounted on a chosen wall.
The chosen donor wall is 12 feet wide and 13 feet tall, located at a stairwell landing between the entrance level and the second floor. The project will be in direct sunlight.
At this time, we have 265 donors, from large to small donations. The Board will be identifying the
levels of recognition by the time the award is made. We will also be identifying a method to recognize
all donors. It is anticipated that the completed project will need to installed summer, 2025 but no later
than September 1 st , 2025.
Materials of this art piece may include heavyweight archival paper, fabric, wood, lightweight metal, plastic, lightweight ceramic, or other solid materials, as long as the donor names will not fade over
time. The Board will award up to $5,000, so please allocate your time and supplies accordingly.
Please submit the application form and preliminary design attachments in an email file (format of jpg, png, pdf in high resolution quality) to the tiltonfund@gmail.com for the Board to review by 5 pm on Monday, March 3, 2025 along with a $25.00 application fee.
