Empório Aragão, in collaboration with São Rafael Galleries, is thrilled to announce a unique open call for talented textile artists to participate in The Haute Couture Boat, a prestigious event taking place in Chelsea, New York, during New York Fashion Week.

This exclusive international showcase will be held on a stunning two-story yacht. The upper deck will host the Art Biennial Sur Mer, an art exhibition featuring diverse artistic expressions, while the lower deck will present a fashion runway showcasing collections from international designers.

As this is a global event bringing together artists and designers from around the world, we are offering a special opportunity for textile artists to display their work in situ. We are selecting 4 textile artworks for exhibition on the lower deck of the yacht. These pieces will be strategically placed, offering a unique backdrop to the haute couture fashion show.

Your textile artworks must have a suitable support system for hanging from window bars, as this is the only available mounting option on the lower deck.

We are looking to select the following sizes:
1 artwork measuring about 170 x 85 cm
3 artworks measuring about 114 x 86 cm

We sincerely believe that being part of this event would be a significant milestone for any artist and designer, as it is the only global showcase of art and fashion hosted on a yacht that will travel to different countries annually.

What to Expect:
- Exhibit your textile artworks on the lower deck of the yacht, providing a unique backdrop to the fashion runway.
- An opportunity to be part of an exclusive yacht exhibition, allowing guests to experience your artistic vision in a unique setting.
- Additional Spotlight: Your artwork will also be featured in the auction at the end of the event and available for bidding based on its base sales value.

We do not charge a commission on sales if the artist is responsible for the receipt and shipping to the customer. If we manage this, we charge a 30% commission.

Tickets for the public cost $500, serving as vouchers for attendees to acquire pieces in an auction held at the end of the event. At the auction, the public will be able to select the pieces to bid on among the works of art and the clothes presented on the catwalk and in the art exhibition.

Note: Artworks to be delivered by hand must be at the indicated location between 4pm and 8pm on September 12th. Artworks to be delivered by courier must be at the indicated location between September 9th and 11th. We recommend DHL or FedEx for this purpose.
