We are excited to partner with Repaint History and present an open call for women and non-binary artists to be featured in issue #34.

In addition, we will be giving out three awards to artists selected by our curator.

Prizes:
1st place: $1000
2nd place: $500
3rd place: $250

For this print edition, we are thrilled to partner with Pegah Kargar, founder of Repaint History. Please submit your work for consideration to be included in issue #34 and on our website + social media and a chance to win one of the prizes.

Guest Curator: Pegah Kargar, founder of Repaint History

Pegah Kargar is the founder of Repaint History, a leading organization founded in 2018 to tackle the existing gender gap in the art world and advance the career of contemporary women and non-binary artists by focusing on providing access to resources & services, funding and community as well as working directly with museums and galleries globally to increase the representation of women artists in the art market. She has been highlighted and profiled as a key advocate for female artists and has championed their work to be acquired and/or represented by museums and galleries across the world. In partnership with 8 other leading organizations she has launched the Fair Art 2030 initiative, a pledge project for museums and galleries to address gender equality and race representation by 2030 in keeping with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG’). In partnership with ArtGirlRising she is currently working on launching Weekly Rise, a platform to connect women & non-binary artists with opportunities in the art world.

Eligibility and Requirements

?ELIGIBILITY: Women, non-binary, and femme artists from any country are welcome to apply with works in any medium: painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, mixed media, installation, and more. A university degree is not required to participate in our open call.

?SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: 3+ jpeg images of individual artworks, a text document with a bio and artist statement, website or social media link, and your email address. Please see our form on Submittable below for full details.

?SUBMISSION FEE: $35 for 3 images of individual artworks (non-refundable*)

*Fees go towards supporting our art community and helping provide opportunities for artists.

?SELECTED ARTISTS: If your work is selected by our guest juror, you will receive a custom-designed two-page spread in both the print and digital versions of the magazine that will include your artist biography, website, and two images. Published artists will be sent a complimentary digital issue and will be listed as a participating artist in your issue on both our website and social media. We also promote artists individually via the blog and social media posts. All featured artists will automatically be considered for any upcoming curatorial projects, not limited to art fairs, exhibitions, and gallery projects organized by our team.

All artists will be notified of the final decision by September 30, 2022. If your work is selected, you will receive further information at that time. All selected work will be included in the print issue in the fall issue of 2022, dates TBA. Artists will have an opportunity to review their spread and make edits if necessary before print.
