Description
From the oceans that surround the Americas to the mountains that divide them – this land is home to some of the world's most powerful landscapes. Open to all media, any original 2D or 3D work depicting a landscape from the Americas (North America, Hawaii, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America) is eligible for entry. Works will be selected by Juror Susan "Sue" Frank, a curator at The Phillips Collection specializing in European and American modernism, and will be on display at Maryland Federation of Art's Circle Gallery from August 25 – September 18, 2021.
Entry Fee:
$40 for up to 2 entries (MFA members $25), $5 each for up to 4 additional entries for a maximum of 6 entries total. Membership, if desired, may be processed immediately before entry.
Awards:
Cash awards of $1,000 will be designated by the juror.
Sales:
Maryland Federation of Art retains 30% commission (25% for members) on any work sold during the exhibition.
Notification:
All entrants will receive notice by email. Accepted artists and artwork will also be posted on MFA's website on the notification date.
Schedule:
Jul 1: Deadline for entries
Jul 27: All artists notified by email
Aug 18 – 22: Shipped work must arrive at Circle Gallery
Aug 25: First day of exhibition
Aug 29: Onsite or virtual reception. More information will be posted about the reception as we get closer to the date.
Sept 18: Last day of exhibition
Sept 19 – 20: Pick up of hand-delivered work
Sept 23: Shipped work will be sent out
