64th Annual Hardy Gallery Wall-to-Wall Juried Exhibit
Call for Artists
Eligibility
This call for submission is open to artists of all career levels from emerging to professional, age 18 years or older residing in the state of Wisconsin. All media is eligible (any special exhibit hardware must be provided by the artist). All artwork must have been executed without the use of AI or instructional assistance and be original in concept, design, and execution. Photo reproduction or prints (such as giclée) of original works will not be eligible for exhibition. Artwork previously exhibited at the Hardy Gallery or created before May 2025 (artwork must have been executed within the last year) will not be accepted. Work that has been produced with commercial kits, molds, plans, prefabricated forms, or other commercial methods will not be accepted. Artwork exceeding 42 inches horizontally or 72 inches vertically, including frame, will not be accepted. Multiple unit works may be entered if total dimensions meet size limitations. Sculptures must not exceed a weight that can be handled by one person. Scroll to the bottom for video tutorials on photographing your art and going through the submission process on ArtCall.

Artist Notification: No later than April 22nd, 2026Results of juror selection will be emailed directly to the email the artist provides within the ArtCall entry form no later than April 22nd, 2026. Artists can also log into their ArtCall account to see the results after April 22nd, 2026. Accepted artists will be posted online at thehardy.org after April 22nd, 2026.

*Artists may submit up to four (4) pieces for jurying. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

Awards
Six awards collectively totaling $1,700 will be announced online Friday, June 5. The awards include 1st Place Award ($500), 2nd Place Award ($400), 3rd Place Award ($300), Julia Van Roo Bresnahan Artistic Achievement Award ($200), People’s Choice Award ($150), Sandy Zapffe Creative Whimsy Award ($150), and three honorable mention awards.
To Enter
Submissions will be made digitally through ArtCall only. We will no longer be accepting in person submissions! New ArtCall users will be required to create an ArtCall profile with a user login and password. Submission Guidelines
Artists may submit a maximum of four entries.Artist's Statementa 200 word maximum artist's statement is to be included in the registrationDo not include personal or biographic information (including your name) in the statementImage files:1-3 images for each 2D work may be submitted: a primary and optionally, a close view, and a view showing scalePrimary image should NOT include mat and frame unless they are integral to or a part of the artwork3 images for each 3D work may be submitted: multiple viewsMinimum file size is 1MB (1000kB); maximum file size is 5MBThree (3) images or video (mp4 or mov) for 3D artwork will be acceptedPhysical dimensions should include framing for 2D work, but the image should be shown only, unless the frame is part of the work.PLEASE include any special assembly or installation requirements with submissionArtwork must be ready for installation. All two-dimensional works and other work intended for all display must be properly framed and wired for hanging. Single nail clips, sawtooth hanging devices, and clip frames will NOT be accepted. Craftsmanship and presentation of artwork will be criteria for acceptance into the exhibit. The Hardy Gallery reserves the right to reject work that does not meet professional standards. Sales
We are a non-commercial exhibit venue but will list works for sale at the artist request. ALL SALES MADE BY THE GALLERY DURING THE TIME OF EXHIBITION ARE SUBJECT TO A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION TO OUR ORGANIZATION OF A 40% COMMISSION FEE. It is the responsibility of the artist to make arrangements with their represented gallery(ies) to determine the listing of their work while on display at the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts, Inc. (“The Hardy Gallery”). Patrons interested in purchasing or viewing other work from the artist not on display will be directly referred to the artist (or their representing gallery). Works need not be for sale, but the artist is highly encouraged to list their work for sale. If a work is listed not for sale (NFS) a value must be declared and noted on the insurance form filled out at the time of entry (the insurance value should not exceed 60% of its retail value). If work is listed for sale, we ask that you calculated the 40% contribution into your sales price. All work must remain at the gallery for the duration of the exhibit. Any work sold may not be removed, exchanged, or replaced. Arrangements for shipping of work sold during the exhibit will be handled by the Hardy Gallery. All art sale payments will be mailed to the artist two weeks after the exhibit ends.
Insurance & Liability
The staff and volunteers of the Hardy Gallery will take every precaution in handling artwork, which will be insured while in the Hardy’s possession. Artwork will be insured at the value stated by the artist (not to exceed 60% of the artworks retail value). The Hardy Gallery assumes no responsibility before or after the specified drop off/pickup dates and times. The artist’s submission of work shall include permission to photograph work and/or use images for publicity and education. Submissions that do not fit the guidelines of visual art will not be accepted.
Commitment to Exhibit
With entry into the 64th Annual Wall-to-Wall Juried Exhibit, artists commit to exhibiting their work, if selected as a finalist, for the duration of the exhibit. Withdrawing artwork after acceptance as a finalist disqualifies the artist from award consideration and from future exhibits. Artists are not allowed to “swap” out a piece of artwork that was accepted for another work. Any alteration of the artwork causing substantial deviation from the entered image(s) may disqualify the artwork from the exhibit at the sole discretion of The Hardy Gallery personnel.
Copyright
All artists are responsible for ensuring their subject matter does not include any copyright infringements. The artist waives The Hardy Gallery of all legal responsibilities if the artist is challenged by another party for copyright infringement. By submitting your artwork, you are confirming you have secured any required releases and are not in violation of any laws.
Delivery & Pick Up of Artwork
Entry(ies) must be hand delivered to and picked during the following dates:
All work must be clearly and securely labeled with artist’s NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE, & ARTWORK TITLE.
Drop Off: May 15th and 16th from 10am-3pm.
Pick Up: July 5th from 3-5pm and July 6th from 9am-12pm.
No shipped entries will be accepted under any circumstance.
Exhibit Installation dates: May 17-21, 2026
**Work left at The Hardy Gallery 30 days after the exhibit ends or where no return shipping arrangements are made, will become the property of The Hardy Gallery.
Image Use
By entering work in this exhibition, the artist gives The Hardy Gallery the right to use images for digital and print promotional purposes.
