Description
ELIGIBILITY
The WSNC Annual Juried Exhibition is open to all current 2026 WSNC associate members working in water media. Membership dues must be paid at the time of entry. Associate members who have moved out of state remain eligible.
Artwork must be the original creation of the artist and not completed under instruction, copied, or derived from another artist’s work (including AI-generated or digital imagery).
Work must have been completed on or after January 1, 2023 (past three years).
Works shown in any previous WSNC exhibition (online, regional or Annual Juried) are not NOT eligible.
Acceptable Media:
Water-soluble media including watercolor, gouache, water-based ink, casein, acrylic, egg tempera, and watercolor pencil/stick/crayon. Other media may be used only in conjunction with water media, which must be visibly dominant in the finished work. Heavy-body impasto, texture gels, or excessive knife-applied relief are not permitted; however, normal texture from watercolor application and natural pigment buildup is acceptable.
Acceptable Surfaces: Natural or synthetic paper or paperboard (e.g., watercolor paper, watercolor board, Yupo), and absorbent rigid supports such as Aquabord/Claybord that are framed.
Not Permitted: Collage, pastel, water-based oils, canvas, prints, reproductions, or digital artwork.
SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS
• Maximum framed size: 44″ in any direction.
• Minimum image size: 80 square inches (height × width).
Note: Compliance with the recommendations will enable the painting to be submitted to WSNC Regional and Annual Exhibitions
