2026 Winged Feet Exhibition and Auction
Hopkinton Center for the Arts and 26.2 Foundation, 501(c)(3) organizations, invite artists to submit their proposal for a Winged Foot, a project celebrating the Boston Marathon. The Winged Feet will be displayed on the Hopkinton Town Common from April 3 through April 26.  Winged Feet will be auctioned off to benefit the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and the 26.2 Foundation.   
If your proposal is selected you will be paired with a local business sponsor who will provide a stipend of $500 to cover the cost of art materials.  Sponsors are chosen at random.  Stipends will be paid at the opening reception.  If you cannot attend it will be mailed to you.
If an artist's proposal is accepted they will be provided with a flat winged foot cut out of Versatex.  Designs must be family friendly and weather resistant. The winged feet will be approximately 2 feet wide by 3-foot-high exterior art installations that will be mounted to a metal pole which will that rests at eye level. Designs should be appropriate for all ages.  When designing the Winged Foot please ensure that the foot points to the right so that all of the Winged Feet on display are facing the same way.  Please only paint one side of the winged foot, if you want to paint the reverse please use a solid color, a metal pole will be affixed to the back for the outdoor installation.Artists may use any weather resistant materials and must be able to withstand being outdoors. Assemblage or mosaics MUST be coated in resin in order to be weather resistant and permanent. If your winged foot arrives and is not able to withstand the elements we will not accept it and you will not receive your stipend.Non-local artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the HCA, and are responsible for insuring their work while in transit. WHEN: The artwork will be displayed outdoors from April 3 to April 26, 2026. The artwork will be available for auction. Proceeds from the sale of the artwork will support the host organizations.DATES TO KNOW:
January 31, 2026: Deadline to fill out this form and attach your proposed art design. 
February 5, 2026: Artists will be notified if their proposal has been accepted.
February 9-13, 2026: Artists must pick up their blank winged foot at HCA 98 Hayden Rowe Street between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the weekends.
Friday March 21 or Saturday March 22, 9am-6pm.  Artist must drop off their completed artwork at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts at 98 Hayden Rowe,  Hopkinton, MA 01748.  Work cannot be accepted before or after these dates. Non-local selected artists work must be received at the HCA, 98 Hayden Rowe St, Hopkinton, MA 01748 c/o exhibitions by March 22, 2026. About the HCA: Serving individuals of all ages, cultures, and artistic abilities across the MetroWest region, the HCA develops artistic skills, offers outstanding artistic performances and exhibitions, and enables visitors to experience art in all forms. Under one roof, we celebrate art through classes and events in visual art, theater, music, dance, ceramics, writing, and film. 
In 2015 we opened our expanded art center, with a new exhibition space, a 200-seat performance space, and newly renovated classrooms. The Delbridge Family Performance Space and the Lotvin Family Gallery annually present dozens of productions and exhibitions by students and adults, amateurs and professionals. Created in 2011, HCA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community arts center, fosters and celebrates the creative spirit in everyone.
