Seattle Convention Center Art Call
2026-2027 Rotating Exhibition Program
Proposals are now being accepted for the Seattle Convention Center (SCC) Rotating Art Program for calendar years 2026 and 2027. The SCC Art Program is committed to highlighting the artistic vitality of the region in the Phyliss Lamphere Gallery at the SCC, open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all convention and meeting attendees, visitors and citizens to enjoy. The location is Level 2 of the SCC Arch Building, 705 Pike Street, Seattle WA 98101.
This call is for group shows representing at least 5 artists. Each show may include up to 70 framed or two-dimensional works. A small number of three-dimensional works may be accommodated within SCC owned plexi-vitrine cases. The SCC contracts for professional installation of the exhibitions.
The SCC expects organizations to curate or self-jury their proposed exhibit to assure that only reviewed works will be exhibited. The SCC will select the successful proposals from representative works submitted. The works must be of a nature that they can be displayed by a public entity for the enjoyment of a diverse and all ages audience (rated G).
Proposals must include detailed information about the group’s history, e.g., number of artists represented, and a paragraph describing the proposed exhibition concept. Include in the proposal any preference for quarter/s of presentation, e.g., April – June 2026. The general exhibition schedule will be established by the SCC.
The exhibiting group is responsible for shipping, handling and delivery of all works. A designated person from the group (Exhibitor) will coordinate activities with the SCC. The exhibition works are to be consolidated off-site in order to limit delivery impacts at the SCC during both load-in and load-out. The SCC Arts Program Specialist must pre-approve all shipping and handling plans. The SCC will provide a staging room to facilitate installation and deinstallation of the works. At the end of the exhibition, the Exhibitor is responsible for all labor to handle artwork removal.
Works will be insured during the time they are installed with individual alarms on the two-dimensional works or locked in SCC-owned vitrines. The exhibitor is responsible to insure works at all other times and is responsible to carefully monitor works in the public spaces during installation and dismantle when alarm systems are deactivated or vitrines are unlocked. The SCC reserves the right to decline display of any works that may not be secured in a manner acceptable to SCC Security. The Exhibitor must provide a comprehensive inventory list of all works, including values and artist names, one week prior to installation.
The exhibitor is responsible to provide and install wall-mounted labels, which may include award citations. All signage and types of labels must meet criteria established by the SCC.
It is understood that some or all the exhibition may be photographed and reproduced in SCC publications or social media for publicity and development purposes.
