2025 Winged Feet Exhibition and AuctionHopkinton Center for the Arts and 26.2 Foundation, 501(c)(3) organizations, invite artists to submit their proposal for a Winged Foot, a project celebrating the Boston Marathon. The Winged Feet will be displayed on the Hopkinton Town Common from April 6 through April 27.  Winged Feet will be auctioned off to benefit the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and the 26.2 Foundation.   This year we are excited to announce that Bobbi Gibb, artist and the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, will be painting a Winged Foot for the Exhibition.  Please submit a proposal for your design to participate in this special exhibition.  Selected artists will be paired with a local business sponsor who will provide a stipend of $500 to cover the cost of art materials.WHAT: Artists will be provided a winged foot cut-out of Versatex. The winged feet will be approximately 2 feet wide by 3-foot-high exterior art installations that will be mounted to a metal pole which will rest at eye level. Designs should be appropriate for all ages.Artists may use any weather resistant materials and must be able to withstand being outdoors. Techniques used could be artists quality acrylic or other outdoor paint, assemblage, mosaics, etc.  WHEN: The artwork will be displayed outdoors from April 4 to April 27, 2025. The artwork will be available for auction. Proceeds from the sale of the artwork will support the host organizations.DATES TO KNOW:December 30, 2024: Deadline to fill out this form and attach your proposed art design. 
January 7, 2025: Artists will be notified of their selected work and business sponsor.
January 8-12, 2025: Artists must pick up their winged foot at HCA 98 Hayden Rowe Street between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the weekends.
Thursday March 27 or Friday March 28, 9am-6pm.  Artist must drop off their completed artwork at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts at 98 Hayden Rowe,  Hopkinton, MA 01748.  Work cannot be accepted before or after these dates. Non-local selected artists work must be received at the HCA, 98 Hayden Rowe St, Hopkinton, MA 01748 c/o exhibitions by April 5, 2025. Non-local artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the HCA, and are responsible for insuring their work while in transit. If shipping work, each artist must provide a pre-paid, UPS or FedEx return shipping label including insurance.
